Chief Bayo Ojo, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria is the Founder
and Principal Partner of Bayo Ojo and Company.
He graduated from the University of Lagos in June 1977 where he obtained
his LL.B and was called to the Nigerian Bar in July 1978. He started his law practice before obtaining
his LL.M from the London School of Economics and Political Science in
1982. He also obtained a Certificate in
Legal Drafting and a Diploma in International Commercial Arbitration from the
Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, London.
He is a Fellow of the same Institute, a Solicitor of the Supreme Court
of England and Wales and a Chartered Arbitrator. Chief Bayo Ojo was the former
Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, former President of
Nigeria Bar Association, former Chairman of the Nigerian Branch Chartered Institute of Arbitrators UK, Member, Board of Trustees of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators UK, Former Delegate National Conference
on Political Reform and Past Chairman of the Legal Aid Council of Nigeria, Commander of the Order of Niger
(CON), Fellow, Nigerian Institute of Advanced Legal Studies (FNIALS)
Chief Ojo has extensive
experience in all aspects of Corporate Commercial Law, International Law,
Litigation, Mediation, Arbitration and Alternative Dispute Resolution Practice. In the course of his career, he has advised
on several major transactions, including Joint Ventures, acquisitions and
Mergers, Significant Law Reforms, appointed Receiver over several companies,
actively participated in the liquidation of Midland Supplies Ltd, Nigerian
Airways Ltd and is also a council member of Business Recovery & Insolvency
Practitioners Association of Nigeria (BRIPAN).
